WHO ARE WE ?

Because detection is, above all, a story of encounters and passion.

🌱 The association

Our association was born at the end of 2015, from a meeting between two enthusiasts in the heart of a wood, around a simple idea: to share a common passion and create a link between detection enthusiasts.
Driven by desire, conviviality and encounters, the adventure quickly took shape.

Our motivations are many, but the first, and strongest, remains the pleasure of sharing: exchanges of experiences, advice, outings, laughter and moments of conviviality.

We also want to structure ourselves, prepare ourselves, and prepare true enthusiasts for changes in legislation.
French archaeology will no longer be able to ignore the value of a structured partnership with recreational and voluntary metal detecting.
Of course, this requires the implementation of new rules.

To move forward, a constructive dialogue must be established between archaeologists and metal detector users, wiping the slate clean to build a more collaborative future.

The archaeological community lacks manpower and time; we, on the other hand, have both.
Partnerships could thus be established throughout France for major construction projects, after the training of regional delegates responsible for training UDMs in detection adapted to excavation areas.

Many major construction sites, as well as preventive excavations in industrial areas or on housing development projects, currently only benefit from a simple visual inspection, due to a lack of time and personnel.

The English model, and others besides, may not be perfect, but no one can deny the considerable advance of discoveries it has enabled, and therefore the massive enrichment of knowledge.

✍️ Our projects: here and elsewhere

A significant encounter, this time far from home, sparked a new desire and gave birth to a unique project. During our stay in Morocco for the Agadir Rally, we had the opportunity to speak with the president of AMARE, the country's largest metal detecting association. From this moment, a unique partnership was born, founded on a simple idea, one that remains essential to us: sharing our passion, creating enjoyment, camaraderie, and beautiful memories.

Being able to practice metal detecting abroad with complete peace of mind… what enthusiast hasn't dreamed of that when going on holiday?
This first partnership therefore opens the way to a new adventure: we will soon be offering the organization of outings in several countries, thanks to the collaboration with local associations and clubs.

And at the local level?
Our wishes:

  • Bringing together enthusiasts from the Centre-Val de Loire region to promote exchange and solidarity.

  • Organize various events around metal detecting: outings, rallies and friendly gatherings.

  • Helping individuals in the search for lost items or family belongings, to put our expertise at the service of the community.

  • Collaborating with farmers to find lost markers and equipment in the fields, in a spirit of mutual aid and respect.

  • To pave the way for constructive dialogue with the archaeological community, with the aim of mutual understanding.

All these actions reflect the values that have driven us since the association's creation: sharing, conviviality, mutual support, and respect. They constitute the very heart of our projects and our commitment.

📍 Our roots in the Centre region

Our association has been rooted in the heart of the Centre-Val de Loire region for 10 years, a territory rich in history, varied landscapes and passionate metal detectorists.
Under the name Détection Centre, we are a discreet association that prioritizes quality over quantity among its members. We bring together recreational metal detectorists from the departments of Cher (18), Eure-et-Loir (28), Indre (36), Indre-et-Loire (37), Loir-et-Cher (41), and Loiret (45). However, our admission rules are very strict to prevent any initial mistakes.
Our aim is to bring together enthusiasts from across the region to create a truly serious community , united by respect for the rules, a desire to share and move forward.
And because passion knows no borders, we gladly open our doors to all detectorists from France and abroad who wish to join our friendly and human adventure.
